Watercress

Watercress is an often overlooked leafy green that is extremely nutrient-dense. It’s actually ranked number one on the CDCs Powerhouse Fruits and Vegetables list. Not only is watercress packed with nutrients it also provides a myriad of antioxidant compounds.

One study found watercress contained 41 different flavonoids. It also found that watercress outperformed all other vegetables (included in the study) when measuring the total amount of phenols and the ability to neutralize free radicals. Watercress also contains dietary nitrates, which boost blood vessel health by reducing inflammation and decreasing the stiffness and thickness of blood

Cayenne

Cayenne is simply used as a catalyst, so the treat isn’t too spicy.
