Mackerel are loaded with a wide variety of essential vitamins and minerals. Mackerel are a particularly rich source of Calcium, Phosphorous, Potassium, Iron, magnesium, zinc, Iodine, Vitamin A, Vitamin D, and Choline.

Mackerel are a great source of Omega-3 Fatty Acids, particularly EPA and DHA.

Mackerel are also a good source of CoQ10 with 6.75 mg per 100 grams.

One of the Great benefits of Mackerel, is that like Sardines they are lower on the food chain, and thus contain less mercury than larger fish.

We get our Mackerel straight from Fishing Companies Located in Southern California.

What really makes them great is that they are fantastic for hiding pills. Many pets don’t like pill pockets. Peanut butter is extremely high in calories. Cheese also has a downside. Our Freeze Dried Mackerel are a great and healthy way to sneak the pill in a treat that won’t make them think twice about eating.

The size of the Mackerel can vary greatly depending on the season. We Use Pacific Blue Mackerel in particular. These are generally smaller than Atlantic/Norwegian Mackerel.
